TFC Contingency Fund Information
How does "The Final Challenge" operate?
"The Final Challenge" is a volunteer effort from top to bottom. Both the programming code and the TFC
'world' have been created by hard working volunteers. The game itself charges no fee in order to play. FastQ has generously provided the Internet connectivity for the game
at a nominal charge.
Why is there a TFC Contingency Fund?
The game incurs expenses, such as charges to upgrade hardware, connectivity charges, and advertising
expenses. The server that "The Final Challenge" runs upon may fail or be decommisioned. Or, FastQ's management may
withdraw their support for the game. Any number of other expenses may arise that require funds to keep TFC
operating.
What is the money used for?
A contribution to the "TFC Contingency Fund" could mean the difference between TFC recovering from a
problem that requires a financial solution, and TFC vanishing, perhaps forever. The developers earn no salary or
other financial or material compensation from the game. That is not what this money is for. Rather, it is a pool of
readily-available money for use when the need arises, or to cover game expenses and expansion.
Why should I donate?
Your contributions help to insure that TFC will be able to keep going, even if it faces financial
hardships. You will also be recognized on a "Contributors" web page. You will not receive in-game privileges or
favors, such as special equipment or rules exceptions. There are currently no plans to provide donation-based in-game
'enhancements' or compensation. Please, if you financially contribute to TFC, contribute because you like the game
and you want to see it continue, not because you think you'll be entitled to special perks. And thanks again for
your consideration!
