Shadow Mastery

Within The Tapestry of Fate [Exits: north]
Stepping through the spider-web, you find yourself standing beneath countless stars... no, not stars, but strands of light, their incandescent glow pushing back the darkness that would otherwise overcome you.

You stand on a circular cathedra of dusky marble striated with silvery gray. Four titanic, equidistantly spaced archways of albescent jade yearn upward towards the lights above you. Sable fires seethe within three of them, a spider-web filling the fourth. In the center of the rostrum stands an intricately carved wooden loom. It is cool here, like the first misty chill of twilight, and you shiver slightly, hair prickling on the back of your neck as you realize: Perhaps this is no place for a mortal to be.
The Loom of the Weaver is here, coruscating with an unearthly radiance.

nods slightly in your direction.

Cordir lays her hands lightly upon Nyx's shoulders.
Cordir gazes deeply into his strand-streaked eyes.

Nyx ftells, 'I have just completed a rescue for Reznor of the Arcanes.'

Cordir whispers something in a language you do not comprehend.
Shadows flood into the chamber from every corner of the room.

Nyx shivers.

Cordir gestures, and the Shadows flow over Nyx, reclaiming him.
Nyx fades out of existence.

Elladan tells Cordir (in common), 'Would it be feasible to put a few family trees on your TFC site? Apparently, people are related in ways I never realized.'

Cordir tells Elladan, 'One sec... doing something important... be right with you'.

Nyx lets out a small sigh. A flutter of relief passes over his face.

Cordir murmurs softly, 'I am well proud of you, Nyx....'
Cordir says, 'The Weaver grants what was offered up in sacrifice.'
Cordir says, 'The Triat hail you, Master Nyx.'
Nyx bows his head.

Cordir shouts, 'All Hail Nyx, Ebon Shadow of Fate, first to reach Triat Mastery in over a thousand years!'

Edge shouts (in common), 'gratz nyx'.
Kennet shouts (in common), 'Hail Nyx, Triat Master!'

Cordir raises Nyx up.

Doc shouts (in common), 'Gratz Nyx! :)'.
Thilach shouts (in common), 'Conrgratz Nyx'.

Cordir smiles quietly, pride radiating from her eyes.

Cordir shakes her head slightly.

Cordir says, 'Nay, Shadow. No thanks are due to me....It is through your own labors and honor that this comes. Long hunted, long sought, at long last earned. And yours, now and always, no matter what else may come.'

Nyx smiles happily.

Cordir raises a hand in blessing and benediction.
Nyx feels protected.

Ananasi ftells, '*blink* the shadow, invis again? the world _must_ have changed :P'.

Cordir chuckles.

Kennet ftells, '*grin* you might put some clothes on, I hate to see someone wearing such rags'.

Nyx ftells, 'The world is once again as it should be, Ananasi.'

Cordir ftells, 'if that is your wish, Shadow...'

Ananasi ftells, 'grin'.

Cordir ftells, 'However, I would imagine that your current state did grant a bit of freedom'.

Nyx ftells, 'I needs meet with Jahiliya...'

Ananasi ftells, 'oh he was very free...swinging in the breeze...'

Nyx ftells, 'It has, and I think that in the future I may again take it upon myself... though preferably voluntarily.'
Nyx ftells, 'But I would like to hunt a bit first *smile*'.

Nyx prays (in common), 'But finally I have sunk into cool water, and my body tingles with it's refreshing feel.'

The shadows swirl gently around you, soothing.

Nyx nods. Nyx murmurs (in old-common), 'It is good to be among you...'

The Shadows swirl and dance in answer, pleased.

Nyx prays (in common), 'I am happy, too, that you were here for this, Lady.'

Cordir smiles quietly. Cordir says, 'As am I. Three tests, did the Weaver demand you pass.'

Ananasi arrives from the north. Ananasi bows deeply. Ananasi ftells, 'Time for me to be heading off'.

Cordir says, 'And, in honor, you met Her expectations.'
Nyx prays (in common), 'I expected a third test by the Weaver... Did I miscount?'

Cordir says, 'The first of the three was denying yourself the shadows when offered.'

Nyx says (in common), 'Ah.'

Cordir says, 'The second of the three was denying yourself despair when Arden slew you.'

Nyx nods.

Cordir says, 'The Third of the Three was denying Borneo's help.'

Cordir says, 'Thice tempted, thrice honor won out. Mastery well and truly earned....'
