Sitting Around Chatting...
Background: Cordir was still an Attendant to Tokugawa, when she logged on, and started chatting one morning. There had been several promotions recently, so the odds were possible that catching Lord Tynian meant she might join those who had been promoted.... [I chose to include this conversation because most players don't ever get the chance to deal with immortals when they're relaxed doing non-administrative sorts of things. Most folks don't have any exposure to Tynian's dry sense of humor, or Thaygar's wicked repartee, etc.]
Tynian says, 'Really? You think you are ready for a following?'
Cordir says, '*smiles* I don't know if anyone is ever _really_ ready... But I think I'm as ready as I can be.'
Tynian says, 'What a cautious, diplimatic answer.' Tynian smirks.
Cordir says, 'Some things you have to experience to understand fully...'
Tokugawa snickers.
Cordir says, 'There are a lot of commands I can't learn, because I can't do them.'
Tynian says, 'And you're sure that Tokugawa doesn't think you suck?'
Thaygar says, 'well, she's bribing him bigtime, assuredly...'
Tokugawa says, 'I think she would make an excellent FLI.'
Cordir says, 'Well, I must admit I am bribing Tokugawa...'
Thaygar says, 'yeah, she's gettin'her money's worth, it seems ...'
Tynian says, 'So, I should question whether you're being honest, Tokugawa?'
Cordir says, 'I told him I'd help him write an area if he'd teach me how to be an awesome FLI.' Cordir grins.
Thaygar says, 'heh.'
Tokugawa says, 'nope, I AM being honest..'
Tynian says, 'What about Nayr? He thinks you are doing okay, Cordir?'
Tokugawa tells Cordir, 'I think I am about to lose an Attendent.'
Cordir says, 'He mentioned one situation that needed improvement and I've taken that advice to heart. I have not spoken with Lord Nayr recently - so I cannot tell you his opinion of me.'
Cordir tells Tokugawa, 'Umm... I wouldn't be HORRIBLY upset....'.
Tokugawa tells Cordir, 'heh'.
Tynian says, 'Oh, so you and Nayr aren't even on speaking terms, eh?'
Cordir says, 'Actually, I rarely see him. Our hours of play are different.'
Tynian says, 'You're avoiding him, too?! Interesting.'
Cordir says, 'Of course, he could be around, doing things invis, but...'
Cordir smirks. Cordir says 'Yes, that must be it... No, really, I play in the early morning and around noon, generally.'
Tokugawa tells you, 'heh, he's teasing you...'.
Cordir says, 'I have school and my sweetie to attend to at night...'
Cordir sits down and thinks deeply. Cordir says, 'It would be a rather nice birthday present....' Cordir grins.
Tokugawa tells Cordir, '*laugh*'.
Thaygar says, 'Ugh.'
Thaygar kicks his link.
Cordir comforts Thaygar.
Cordir tells Tokugawa, 'I can only be on for 7 more minutes.. on a morning break'.
Tynian says, 'Hmm. You haven't been around that much, Cordir.'
Cordir says, 'Actually, I've been an Immortal for over five hundred hours in 6 months... Much more than many of FLIs currently serving a following.'
Tynian says, 'And you haven't been promoted yet?! Geez, what are you doing wrong?'
Cordir says, 'Not catching You at the right time?'
Tynian says, 'We could tie your promotion to the next time I do serious coding, but that would be cruel and unusual punishment.'
Cordir gulps. Cordir says, 'Umm..... '
Cordir says weakly, 'That _would_ be cruel and unusual...'
Tynian says, 'Yeah. I wouldn't do that to you.'
Cordir sits down and thinks deeply. Cordir says, 'I don't suppose you have time to promote me today, do you?'
Tynian says, 'Oh, I couldn't do that. I still need to talk about you behind your back. You know, get Tokugawa alone, where he's under no pressure and all.'
Tynian smirks.
Cordir nods sagely. Cordir says, 'Of course.... I understand, sir. but I thought that's what LT was for... = ) '
Tynian says, 'It doesn't work very well when the people I need to talk to are not online, and Tokugawa might not feel comfortable with you looming over his shoulder. ;-)'
Thaygar says, 'your presence is so astounding, he'd cower even on it.'
Cordir nods. Cordir says, 'Of course, sir. he might feel undue influence....'
Tynian says, 'Exactly.'
Cordir says, 'I might blackmail him with refusing to teach his wife more bellydancing.'
Thaygar says, 'oooh. you have no shame, do you?'
Tokugawa says, 'remember, I have more pictures Cordir!' Tokugawa winks.
Cordir says, 'He did teach me one important skill the other day....'
Cordir grins. Cordir says, 'Yeah, just scanned the first 5 slides, Toku.'
Tokugawa says, 'heh, they look good?'
Cordir says, 'He was explaining good 'dealing with problem followers' techniques.'
Cordir says, 'Alas, I am at my office, and must return my attention to outworld duties soon.'
Thaygar says, 'my solution says, 'kill em in gruesome, nasty ways.'
Cordir says, 'He recommended Rift.'
Cordir sits down and thinks deeply. Cordir says, 'I do seem to recall that of You, Lord Thaygar... the Dhole, was it not?'
Thaygar says, 'the new 'blast their eq right off' spells seem nice, too.'
Tokugawa says, 'heh.'
Cordir says, 'Has anyone heard from FK lately?'
Thaygar says, 'my *fave* though, was *stealing*
'
Tokugawa says, 'who's that?' Tokugawa smirks.
Cordir says, 'One of his followers was asking if FK was officially Inactive.'
Tynian says, 'much less active then I am.'
Thaygar says, 'take every dang item out of inventory ... see what they're hiding from you, and then give back what you think they deserve.'
Tynian says, 'No new list has been done.'
Tynian says, '(Was AFW a few, BTW)'
Cordir says, 'Well, I'm afraid I must depart, unfortunately... duty calls.'
Cordir says, 'Gentlemen, as always, a pleasure....'
Tynian says, 'In the next week or two, I will probably post an inactivity list.'
Tynian says, 'Have fun, Cordir.'
Thaygar says, 'see ya.'
Tokugawa says, 'see ya later Cordir.'
Cordir says, '(And just remember, Toku, if you don't give me rave reviews, I'm not teaching Tracy how to undulate! = P '
Tokugawa says, 'ooh!' Tokugawa grovels before Cordir.
Cordir grins.
Tynian says, 'Ahem.'
Cordir waves.
Tokugawa says, 'heh.'
Cordir says, 'Just teasing, milord.' Cordir bows deeply before Tynian.
Tynian says, 'Of course.' Tynian smirks.
